About the FSA
Farringdon Village is a small, rural community with obvious roots in farming; geographically widely distributed and with no common amenities, such as pubs or shops, apart from its church and hall. The Farringdon Society of Arts was founded in April 2004 for the purpose of further drawing together a diverse community and encouraging a sense of belonging in what is now a more secular world. All our committee members share the same enthusiasm and a sense of the fun that this project provides, together with a desire to revive the village spirit .The FSA was launched in July 2004 with a "summer spectacular" featuring Elizabeth Jane Baldry, an internationally acclaimed harpist, and this first event was attended by sixty people. Since then a large number of very diverse event have been held (some are featured in the Gallery section and all are listed at the end of this page) and the success has been such that the original "founding five" were in danger of becoming overwhelmed with the work of organising the FSA. As a result, the FSA was restructured at the end of 2006, and the new organisation is outlined below.....
